Niger, guest of honor at the 21st edition of the National Culture Week of Burkina FasoHealth Minister stresses mportance of access to modern therapeutic and surgical techniques in Ophthalmology

NIAMEY: Niger is the guest of honor at the 21st edition of the National Culture Week (SNC) of Burkina Faso, scheduled from April 27 to May 4, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The announcement was made this morning of Friday March 1, 2024 by the Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Spokesperson for the Government of Burkina Faso, Mr. Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo , following an audience granted to him by the President of the National Council for the Protection of the Fatherland (CNSP), Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani.

According to the Spokesperson of the Burkinabè Government, the President of the CNSP notified him of his agreement for Niger to be the guest of honor at this major cultural event in Burkina Faso because ‘culture must be highlighted in the framework of the fight that we (member countries of the AES, editor’s note) are waging for sovereignty and regained dignity.

r, Burkina Faso and Mali, who today have culture as a value of sharing, fraternity, mutual respect, etc. », added the Burkinabè Minister in charge of Culture for whom the National Culture Week of his country will be an opportunity to further magnify the values of the people of the Sahel countries.

The National Culture Week (SNC) of Burkina Faso, it is noted, has been organized since 1983. This important cultural activity is organized every two years in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso, bringing together thousands of artists, creators and culture enthusiasts from the four corners of the country.

Tunis: Minister of Health, Ali Mrabet, stressed the importance of learning about modern therapeutic and surgical techniques in the field of ophthalmology, as he attended on Friday evening in the capital, part of the work of the 41st Congress of the Tunisian Society of Ophthalmology, which will be hosted by Tunisia from February 28 to March 2, 2024.

The conference, which is attended by specialists and experts from Arab, African and foreign countries, will address a number of topics related to ophthalmology, such as cataract surgery, retinal detachment, corneal surgery and modern therapeutic and surgical techniques, according to a statement from the ministry.

In his speech, the Minister of Health noted the richness of the scientific programme of the ophthalmology conference and the opportunity to learn about scientific developments in this field, as well as the success of the Tunisian Ophthalmological Society in strengthening cooperation with its counterparts from different countries to improve the skills of
ophthalmologists and surgeons.

A number of professors and heads of hospital departments at the Hedi Raies Institute of Ophthalmology were honoured.

Prizes were also awarded to the best researchers in the field of ophthalmology.
