The non-governmental organization Action Against Hunger (ACF)/Dori base took stock of the three months of intervention in the Boulsa health district on May 17, 2023, during ‘a workshop. This “day of accountability” was placed under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the province, Conseiga Adama.

This “accountability day” allowed the managers of Action Against Hunger (ACF) to take stock of the implementation of the Integrated Response to Nutritional Insecurity project in the areas affected by the crisis in Burkina Faso. A balance sheet deemed satisfactory by the various participants.

For the representative of the Regional Director of Health and Public Hygiene of the Centre-North, Albassa Kodo, ACF has introduced a major innovation in the care of patients in health centers. Because, he added, she has provided village midwives with hygienic delivery kits to assist women in labor who are far from a health center.

Mr. Kodo also noted the free care of children under 5, pregnant and breastfeeding women, cases of sexual violence and vulnerable people, the provision of medical technical inputs to health centers.

According to him, ACF has also enabled the rehabilitation of certain infrastructures, funding for the referral of certain patients to reference centers, the psychosocial care of people who are victims of post-traumatic stress.

For him, ACF also contributes to the training and equipping of health personnel and community-based health workers (ASBC) for the management of certain cases, raising awareness and equipping women on the prevention of malnutrition in their children.

Participants also noted their satisfaction with ACF’s achievements.

They also urged ACF to continue in the same dynamic during the likely renewal of the project.

The participants wanted the erection of an ACF living quarters in Kaya to reduce distances and the funding of a consultation framework with a view to harmonizing interventions in the field.

ACF’s deputy program manager, Sambaré Issofou, said he was satisfied with the “active and fruitful” participation of members in the workshop. He promised the commitment of his structure to continue the work of development and rapid management of shocks.
