Namentenga: Tougouri Community Evaluates Public Affairs Management from 2022 to 2024


Namentenga: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Tougouri, Dieudonné Diasso, chaired the accountability day of the said commune on Saturday, March 15, 2025. On this occasion, the various socio-professional groups of the commune appreciated the report on the management of local public affairs for the period 2022-2024 before making projections for the future.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Diasso expressed satisfaction with the effective participation of the socio-professional sectors of the municipality of Tougouri in the accountability day. The delegation met eight times, took 32 deliberations, and focused on the situation of the operating and investment budgets for the 2022-2024 financial years. They also discussed the 2025 financial year budget, where revenue amounts to 94,467,506 FCFA against 187,301,963 FCFA in 2022, with an investment budget of 17,138,000 FCFA compared to 94,768,682 FCFA in 2022.

During 2022-2024, education and health sectors in Tougouri benefit
ed from investments by technical and financial partners, leading to the construction of various infrastructures and equipment. However, the special delegation noted challenges, including security issues, a decrease in development partners, delays in fund allocation, suspension of state transfers, and limited involvement of local institutions in reform implementation.

Participants addressed issues such as the high cost of grain, construction of a women’s home, public lighting, support for peace efforts, and management of the town’s shops. Diasso called for unity among the community and its partners to realize the commune’s projects.

Dieudonné Diasso also commended the PDS members for their resilience and achievements despite the challenging national context.
