Nationals of the village of Bonam around their resident leaders in Ouaga and elsewhere have mobilized food worth nearly 2,500,000 FCFA to facilitate the return to the village of their parents victims of the terrorist Hydra and to support the Homeland Defense Volunteers in the field. The official presentation of the donation took place in Boulsa on May 20, 2023.
“The donation of food and compounds of corn, rice and beans of nearly 17 tons. It aims on the one hand to relieve a little the suffering of internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the terrorist attacks, forced to move to Boulsa, the capital of the commune, and on the other hand, to provide support to the volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP) who organize themselves to ensure the resettlement of IDPs in their respective localities”, indicated the former minister in charge of agriculture, Laurent Sédogo.
Bonam, a village in the commune of Boulsa located 15km north of it, experienced the horrors of terrorists in early April 2023. According to the nationals, Bonam, which constitutes the economic lung of the commune in the field of agricultural production, paid the heaviest toll of terrorist attacks.
By launching an appeal to all the living forces of the said valley for the promotion of active solidarity, Laurent Sédogo, congratulated and encouraged the fighting forces on the ground for their dynamism.
He also thanked the daughters and sons of the land, the technical and financial partners of Burkina who responded favorably to their call.
The delegation called for young people from their village to be taken into account in future military training to increase the number of VDPs and an accelerated resettlement of their IDPs.
The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Conseiga Adama, thanked the delegation for the sacrifices made and pledged to pass on the donation to whom it may concern. Officials of the fighting forces and the Provincial Director in charge of humanitarian action also took part in this donation ceremony.
