Nahouri/Village of Katchéli: Soon an oil depot worth more than 81 billion CFA francs


The governor of the Center-South region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, chaired this Monday, June 3, 2024 in Pô, an information meeting on the project to build an oil depot in the village of Katchéli, in the commune of Pô. At a cost of 81,305,000,000 F CFA, this deposit will increase SONABHY’s storage capacities.

With a total cost of 81,305,000,000 CFA francs, the project is composed of a filling center with two stationary filling stations for bottles of 3, 6, 9, 12 and 38 kg, a storage area of liquid products with a capacity of approximately 80,000 m3 and a multi-product pipeline from Bolgatanga-Pô.

The depot will be made inside the village of Katchéli, on the national road No. 5 located approximately 7 km from the exit of Pô towards Ouagadougou.

It is with the aim of mobilizing all the actors in the region involved in the process that the governor of the Center-South region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, initiated this important meeting.

After the presentation of the project by the director of plan
ning and projects of the Burkinabè National Hydrocarbons Company (SONABHY), Désiré Ouédraogo, discussions followed.

Exchanges, carrying out socio-economic activities for the benefit of the populations, taking into account the workforce and local businesses in the implementation of the project, were discussed.

The governor of the Center-South region expressed his satisfaction with the choice of his region for the realization of this important socio-economic project.

To those responsible for the project, the governor invited them to frank communication with all the actors involved in the process.

He urged opinion leaders and local actors, so that everyone can act as a relay to the community to benefit from full support for the project.

After the site visit, the governor indicated that the first meeting is the start of a series that will be organized as part of the implementation of this important project.

It should be noted that this project, whose execution time is 24 months, is part of the decentralizat
ion of deposits and the increase in SONABHY’s storage capacities
