Nahouri: Dakola border police station now meets international standards

The Minister Delegate, responsible for Security, Divisional Police Commissioner Mahamadou Sana, chaired the official launching ceremony on March 28, 2024 in Dakola, a locality located on the border of Burkina Faso and Ghana. border police station service, built by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and its partners.

The Dakola border police station, inaugurated on March 28, 2024, by the Minister Delegate in charge of Security, Divisional Police Commissioner Mahamadou Sana, was carried out thanks to the project for the construction of border police stations in Burkina Faso.

According to the representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Hamidou Dipama, the construction of the infrastructure was made possible thanks to the good collaboration between the government of Burkina and the international organization for migration.

‘It will enable staff to comply with international standards in migration management, including the treatment of passengers,’ he said.

The creatio
n of this jewel with various equipment installed, including the integrated computerized management tool for migration data (MIDAS), will give pride to border populations in being Burkinabè on the one hand, and on the other hand, restore the image of Burkina Faso.

The president of the special delegation of the commune of Pô, Ilassa Dianda and the representative of the traditional chief of Dakola, Salif Ayiyaré Koudoguèri, explained that Dakola appears as a showcase for the country.

The Minister Delegate, responsible for Security, praised the strong mobilization and musical expressions of the populations of Dakola for the occasion.

He indicated that border post personnel are frontline actors and their commitment and sacrifice contribute to improving security gains in remote areas.

The Divisional Police Commissioner, Mahamadou Sana, congratulated the IOM and its partners for their renewed confidence in Burkina Faso despite the negative assessment that some make of Burkina.

He ended by showing his appreciati
on for the tireless efforts shown by the combat units engaged in the reconquest of the national territory.

Sana is committed to rational management with the actors involved in the management of this infrastructure and equipment.

Before the start of the ceremony, the customary authorities of Dakola blessed the building and prayed for the fighting forces engaged in the reconquest of the national territory.

The official ceremony also marks the commissioning of the border posts of Hamélé and Kosso, in the South-West region, and Lan in the Center-West region.
