Nahouri/Collective marriage: 10 couples break with celibacy

The Municipal Coordination of Women of the municipality of Pô organized, on May 6, 2023 in Pô, a collective wedding for the benefit of ten couples, as part of the activities of March 8, 2023.

In front of witnesses, acquaintances and members of the municipal coordination office of Pô, the 10 couples broke up with celibacy at the town hall of Pô on May 6, 2023.

Co-celebrated by the two vice-presidents of the special delegation of Pô, Francis W. Yaguibou and Petrabou C. Luc, the collective wedding was organized by the communal coordination of the women of Pô within the framework of the activities of March 8, 2023.

The Municipal Coordinator of Po Women, Alima Ada/Alira, expressed her satisfaction with the effective holding of this activity even if it is carried out late.

She invited the couples to have a thought towards the internally displaced persons and to pray for the fighting forces engaged in the field of operations.

The first vice-president of the special delegation of Pô, Francis W. Yaguibou, congratulated the new couples for their commitment.

He also congratulated the communal coordination and encouraged them for having organized these collective weddings on a regular basis in the commune of Pô.

Mr. Yaguibou invited them to always be at the side of young couples to advise them.

As for the former couples who have regularized their situation, the municipal authority has encouraged them to remain in the same dynamic and to be guides for the new ones.

At the end of the ceremony, each of the 10 couples received three loincloths from the communal coordination of the women of Pô.

After saying “yes” in front of the municipal authority and sharing a meal together, the 10 couples met each in their religious denomination to seal their union once again.

It is noted that the oldest couple is 55 years old and the youngest is 25 years old.
