Mouhoun Masons Rehabilitate Road to BIR 10 Camp with Own Funds

Mouhoun: A collective of masons led by the Yorossi company took it upon themselves to rehabilitate the deteriorated road leading to the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) 10 camp in Dedougou. On the night of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, these craftsmen initiated repairs using their own resources to improve access for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), local residents, and other users of the strategic route.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the road leading to the camp was in a poor state, with potholes causing significant inconvenience to those traveling on it. The masons of Dedougou, aware of the critical need for reliable road infrastructure, decided to take action to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Under the leadership of Joseph Sama, founder of the Yorossi company, a team of masons worked diligently to strip the damaged areas, remove temporary embankments, and prepare for the installation of durable concrete. Sama explained that the visible damage to the asphalt at the camp’s entrance prompted the group to take initiative and provide support by repairing the road, thus aiding the FDS and VDP in their maneuvers.

The BIR 10 officials expressed gratitude for this civic gesture, acknowledging the impact of the artisans’ work. This initiative highlights the collaboration between the military and civilians, enhancing social cohesion and showcasing the tangible benefits of community-driven actions.

This voluntary project, executed with dedication, underscores a strong sense of patriotism and civic duty. Through their efforts, the masons not only enhance a critical infrastructure but also reaffirm their commitment to collective development, embodying the values of solidarity promoted by national leaders.
