Mouhoun: The Diocesan Executive Secretary of OCADES/Caritas Burkina, representing the Bishop of the diocese, Father Andr© To©, presided over the 2025-2026 school year Mass at the Saint Paul Minor Seminary in Tionkuy, in the diocese of D©dougou. During the event, the new director, Father Stanislas Sow, was officially installed, and a tribute was paid to the teachers concluding their mission.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by the educational community, seminarians, parents of students, and many faithful. They gathered to entrust the new school year to God. In his homily, Father Andr© To© encouraged the seminarians and staff to make the seminary a school of truth, humility, and faith, urging them to serve their neighbors with sincerity.
Father To© also commended the commitment of the teachers and educators leaving the community. They were congratulated for their dedication to the human, intellectual, and spiritual formation of young people. The general delegate of the seminarians expressed gratitude to the trainers and welcomed the new supervisors and boarders, encouraging peers to maintain discipline and excellence.
On behalf of departing students, Benjamin Dama expressed gratitude to those responsible for their training. Father Stanislas Sow, officially installed as the new director, expressed gratitude and confidence in divine Providence, highlighting the Lord’s trust in ordinary men for extraordinary missions.
Father Sow paid tribute to Benjamin Dama, a dedicated teacher leaving after thirty-five years of service, and other teachers like Roger Dakouo and Bertin Dakouo, who also served for extended periods. The celebration, characterized by songs and prayers, was a moment of communion and spiritual renewal for the entire community.
Prayers were offered for the martyrs of the 2014 popular uprising, for the FDS and the VDP, and for peace in Burkina Faso. Founded in 1961, the Petit S©minaire Saint Paul de Tionkuy remains an essential pillar of the vocational pastoral work of the diocese of D©dougou, reaffirming its mission to train men of faith and service.
