Mouhoun Departmental Court Hearing Promotes Public Service Ownership in Safan©

Mouhoun: As part of the strengthening of local governance, the village of Banga, in the commune of Safan©, hosted a mobile court hearing of the Safan© Departmental Court on Friday, October 24, 2025. The population was invited to take ownership of public services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity, carried out with the support of the Programme for Resilience, Local Governance and Basic Services (PREGOLS), aims to bring justice closer to the population and to facilitate access to declaratory judgments of birth and death, essential for the exercise of civil rights and the full enjoyment of citizenship.

The President of the special delegation (PDS) of Safan©, Ali Traor©, also President of the Departmental Court, indicated that this initiative reflects the firm desire of the State to make decentralization effective and to promote an administration at the service of citizens. By moving to the heart of rural communities, the authorities intend to make justice more accessible and more humane.

The PDS recalled that the role of the Departmental Court is above all to guarantee each citizen access to their fundamental civil rights. “Every birth certificate issued, every judgment pronounced, opens the way to dignity, to education, to health and to the recognition of the citizen by his nation,” he stressed. Ali Traor© called on people to trust institutions and take ownership of public services, a guarantee of a just and inclusive society.

The Banga fair is thus part of a dynamic of strengthening the link between the administration and local communities. It illustrates the State’s determination to promote fair justice, close to and attentive to the needs of rural populations. Through this type of initiative, a more humane, participatory and supportive governance is taking shape in the villages of the Safan© department.
