Mouhoun/Academic Excellence: The Regional Director Congratulates Best Teacher for Outstanding Achievement


Mouhoun: The regional director in charge of secondary education in Boucle du Mouhoun, Raoul Sanon, received Gisele Sou/Malo, who was distinguished as the best teacher in the region during the national day of academic excellence held in Ouagadougou.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Gisele Sou/Malo, accompanied by officials from the Dedougou municipal high school where she teaches, presented her prize on September 2, 2025, symbolizing national recognition for her commitment, professionalism, and dedication to education. She expressed her gratitude to the educational authorities for their support.



The award ceremony, presided over by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, presented her with a Sirius motorcycle, a laptop computer, an envelope of 500,000 CFA francs, and an official certificate of recognition signed by the President of Faso. “This award is the result of hard work, a passion for teaching, and an unwavering commitment to our students. It shows that merit is always recognized,” said the regional director, while congratulating the teaching staff of the Dedougou municipal high school for their support.



Gisele Sou/Malo dedicated her distinction to her colleagues, her students, and the entire educational community. She stated that this recognition honors her and motivates her to provide quality education and contribute to the development of the Burkinabe education system.



The National Day of Academic Excellence, organized annually by the ministries responsible for education and chaired by the Head of State, rewards teachers, students, and stakeholders in the education system for their professionalism, creativity, and results. Through this distinction, the Burkinabe government reaffirms its ambition to promote the teaching profession and excellence, which are essential for the country’s development.
