Morocco’s Historic Role in Defending the Palestinian Cause Highlighted in Ramallah

During talks, Tuesday in Ramallah, with Morocco’s ambassador to Palestine, Abderrahim Meziane, the minister highlighted “the pioneering role of HM the King, who never stopped His efforts to defend the Holy City and support the resistance of its people against the practices of the Israeli occupation, following the example of the Moroccan Sultans who helped Prince Salah Eddine El Ayoubi in liberating and rebuilding Al-Quds.

In this sense, Abu Jaish hailed Morocco’s radiant role in preserving the City of Al-Quds from Judaization and occupation, stressing that the Kingdom has played, through the ages, pioneering roles in preserving the history and heritage character of the Holy City.

He also commended the Kingdom’s efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The talks also focused on ways to promote bilateral cooperation in the areas of employment, vocational training and social security.

In this regard, the Palestinian official highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in employment, social dialogue and social security, describing it as a model of success in the Arab world and in Africa, which has enabled Morocco to achieve a qualitative economic and social development leading to prosperity, stability and social security.

Abu Jaish also voiced the wish of the Palestinian side to benefit from the Moroccan experience and to implement it in the State of Palestine.

The minister also called for the establishment of a memorandum of understanding with Morocco, as a legal framework to launch fruitful bilateral cooperation in employment in general to improve the technical skills needed by the Palestinian labor market.

For his part, Ambassdor Abderrahim Meziane confirmed Morocco’s readiness to develop bilateral cooperation with the brotherly state of Palestine in all areas, including employment, which plays a key role in reducing unemployment and achieving social security and stability.
