More Than a Ton of Corn Harvested for VDP in Boussou


Zondoma: The harvest of the field dedicated to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the commune of Boussou took place, yielding more than a ton of corn. This event was attended by the President of the special delegation of the commune, Alassane Demsili.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the population of Boussou sowed at least 2.5 hectares of corn during the current agricultural campaign specifically for the benefit of the VDP in the locality. The harvest was scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025. Alassane Demsili stated that this initiative is intended to honor the sacrifices made by the VDP in defending the people and their property.



Demsili noted that this effort is part of the agro-silvo-pastoral and fishing offensive launched by the country’s authorities. He expressed gratitude towards the residents of Boussou and the agricultural technical officers for their support and commitment to the project.



The anticipated yield of more than a ton of corn stands as a symbol of appreciation for the defenders of the territory. The head of the VDP conveyed his gratitude to the municipal authorities and the entire population for their continued support, which has been instrumental in their mission.



The commune of Boussou has experienced numerous security challenges. However, due to the mobilization of the population and the determination of the VDP, supported by the expenditure forces, the capital of the commune has remained stable, and several displaced villages have already returned.
