The symposium began with verses from the Holy Quran, and the screening of a documentary on the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema and its various activities since its inception in 2015.
Speaking on this occasion, Sheikh Ndiaye Salehou, president of the Central African section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, for His interest in the Foundation and in all Muslims of the African Continent.
He also noted the relevance of the symposium’s theme, while stressing the importance of Islam’s values of tolerance in the consecration of security and stability in African societies.
For her part, Professor Aicha Rebaï, expert at the Foundation Mohammed VI of the African Ulema, stressed, in a speech on behalf of the Foundation, the importance of common religious constants linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the Central African Republic.
On the other hand, Reverend Nicolas Singa Gbazia, president of the Association of Evangelical Churches expressed his satisfaction with the theme of the conference and highlighted its role in promoting peace on the African continent, calling on everyone to be an ambassador of peace in Central Africa.
The personal representative of Bruno Yapandé, Minister of National Territorial Administration, also emphasized, in a speech delivered by the official authorities of the Central African Republic, the role of spiritual values in the consolidation of security and peace in the country.
At the end of the opening session, Dr. Mohamed Maghraoui, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the symposium, presented the program, recalling its objectives and expected results.
He stressed the importance of strengthening spiritual values in our contemporary world and on the African continent in particular, which is one of the primary concerns of the Foundation Mohammed VI of the African Ulema.
