Morocco acts in a regional environment dominated by increasingly pressing constraints against which it deploys large-scale efforts in the fight against all forms of cross-border crime, including illegal migration channels, while adopting a holistic and inclusive approach.

In this respect, it should be noted that migration governance in the Kingdom is part of a comprehensive approach that is based on several components, including the humanist dimension of protecting migrants, as well as the operational dimension of fighting against migrant trafficking networks.

Within this framework, the National Strategy for Immigration and Asylum (SNIA), implemented in 2013 in application of the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, constituted a real inflection in migration governance, by integrating the centrality of the paradigm of respect for the rights of migrants in a logic of solidarity and inclusion.

This major and unprecedented initiative has led to the recognition of the continent, which has designated HM King Mohammed VI as the leader of migration governance in Africa.
