May 15 at Bam: The ancestors accept the sacrifices of the Nionnionsé

The guardians of the 12 altars (fetishes) of Sanrgo (Kongoussi) transferred their mobile fetishes to Kongoussi on May 15, 2024 where they made sacrifices to ask for peace for Burkina Faso.

The ancestors of Kongoussi accepted the sacrifices of the Nionnionsés on May 15, 2024, Feast of Customs and Traditions.

A white chicken was slaughtered by the representative of the guardian of the altar of Nanné, eldest of the 11 fetishes belonging to Sanrgo, stronghold of the Nionnionsés of Kongoussi.

‘We made our sacrifices and our ancestors accepted. You saw that the chicken died. We asked for peace for Burkina and union between the sons of the country. We are really happy with this day and we thank the Transition for having made it official’ explained the president of the organizing committee Etienne Sawadogo.

The spokesperson for the indigenous people of Kongoussi Oscar Sawadogo pleaded with the municipal authorities so that the place chosen for this morning’s ceremony be granted to the traditionalists for this com
memoration.

The High Commissioner of Bam Adama Jean Yves Béré who participated in the ceremony wished a happy birthday to all those celebrating this day.

During the celebration, masks from Sanrgo and Bango gave demonstrations
