L©raba: The High Commissioner of the L©raba province, Yacouba Sawadogo, presided over the 23rd stage of the rotating ceremony for raising the national colors in Sindou, recommending that each department head integrate an internal organization of one day per week for the raising of the colors with the staff in their area.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the rotating ceremony of raising the national colors has been organized since June 9, 2022, in public and parapublic services and structures in L©raba, the second province of the Tannounyan region, formerly known as the Cascades region. The 23rd stage of this ceremony took place in the Sindou departmental treasury under the chairmanship of Yacouba Sawadogo.
The High Commissioner emphasized that the objective is to consolidate the spirit of civic duty and patriotism and to ensure the systematic respect of the symbols of the State, particularly the national colors. This ceremony marked the final stage of the province’s first program, which has been running for three years since its launch.
Out of 17 public services, 9 have equipped themselves with a mast and acquired a flag to ensure the presence of the State. The remaining 8 services do not have flags due to being hosted by other services. Yacouba Sawadogo expressed satisfaction with these results, noting that the national flag will now fly in each of the public services within Sindou, the capital of L©raba.
He extended gratitude to religious leaders, directors, department heads, and staff who have consistently participated in this activity. Sawadogo stated that a new program will be communicated shortly, considering the departments and municipalities. He encouraged each department head to organize a weekly solemn raising of the colors with staff as part of this new initiative.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, departmental treasurer Mathieu Sawadogo handed over the torch to the High Commissioner, pending the announcement of the new schedule.
