Lower House Speaker Holds Talks with OIC Secretary-General

On this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted the role of HM King Mohammed VI, as Chair of the Al-Quds Committee of the OIC, in supporting the Palestinian cause and defending Al-Quds-al-Sharif, a statement from the House said.

In this regard, Talbi El Alami noted that the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, which is located in the Kingdom of Morocco and sponsored by His Majesty the King, contributes to important and concrete projects for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Holy City.

Within the framework of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), the Moroccan Parliament contributes effectively to the strengthening of solidarity and unity values among Islamic countries in meeting the challenges facing the Islamic world, he was quoted as saying.

For his part, OIC Secretary-General expressed his gratitude for Morocco’s role in establishing the Joint Islamic Action, recalling that the establishment of the organization took place in 1969 in Rabat, where the first meeting of the leaders of the Islamic world was held. Brahim Taha also took this opportunity to shed light on the challenges facing the Islamic world.

In this respect, he underlined the importance of resolving conflicts through peaceful means, consolidating the values of tolerance and peace, ensuring food security, raising youth awareness, and investing in education, the statement concluded.
