Local Stakeholders Urged to Finance Koudougou’s Municipal Development Plan


Koudougou: The municipality of Koudougou held a meeting in the town hall conference room with technical and financial partners, economic operators, and civil society to mobilize resources for the implementation of its 2025-2029 Municipal Development Plan (PCD).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session was chaired by the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Koudougou, Amedee Pare. The meeting presented a summary of the new PCD, which has a total cost estimated at 11.2 billion CFA francs. Of this, 1.75 billion is covered by the municipality, leaving around 9 billion to be sourced from development partners.

The session included three presentations. The first presentation outlined the PCD and its four strategic axes: developing local potential, strengthening basic social services, promoting social cohesion and peace, and consolidating local governance.

The remaining presentations highlighted the importance of involving local stakeholders in financing development and explored opportunities o
ffered by public-private partnerships.

PDS Pare expressed satisfaction with the participation and discussions, noting that expectations were met with strong stakeholder engagement. He emphasized the need to leverage local strengths for Koudougou’s development.

Youth representative Abdoul Aziz Zongo commended the inclusive approach of the PCD, emphasizing that it considers all social strata and inviting everyone to contribute.

The session concluded with recommendations to enhance stakeholder participation and establish a monitoring committee to ensure resource mobilization and the implementation of priority projects within the PCD 2025-2029.
