Local elections-Tunis II: Candidate Hédia Hakimi shares her electoral programme with locals


Hedia Hakimi, candidate for the “Carthage Byrsa” electoral constituency, for the local council of Carthage, pledged to turn the region into “an Imada that meets the aspirations of its inhabitants”

Speaking to TAP, the candidate underlined that her electoral program under the slogan «Hand in Hand towards a Better future» focused on providing training to young unemployed people and housewives so as to enable them to earn their living with dignity.

She promised to bring all necessary support to small and medium-sized projects, develop local projects and create «producer to consumer» sales points to combat price inflation.

The candidate also promised to ensure that the necessary medicines and equipment are provided to the dispensary as well as dedicate a space for stray animals.

She pledged to mobilize psychologists in schools and devote a weekly day to sports and leisure activities.

The 36-year old candidate Hedia Hakimi, is committed to building a modern cultural complex and maintaining the region’s archa
eological and tourist sites.

The electoral district «Carthage Byrsa» has 5 candidates. Sixteen candidates, including two disabled people who are vying for the Carthage local council elections.

The Carthage delegation covers an area of 7,774 km2 or 2.69 pc of the entire capital Tunis. It has 26,267 inhabitants and is spread over 6 electoral districts, namely: El Yasmina, Amilcar, Cité Mohamed Ali, Sidi Bousaid, Carthage Plage and Carthage Byrsa.
