The statutory members of the provincial consultation framework benefited on Monday, April 27 in Nouna, from three communications on the actions of the NGO Terre des hommes (TDH), as part of the first ordinary session of the year 2023, noted an AIB journalist.

These communications focused on social cohesion, prevention, alternative conflict management and the situation of internally displaced persons in the province.

The province of Kossi, like other localities prey to the terrorist hydra, was hard hit during the first quarter of 2023. The high commissioner of the province and president of the provincial consultation framework, Dô Jacques Abel Sanou, welcomed the effective holding of the first session, which according to him is the place to better guide the actions of NGOs and Programs intervening in the Kossi for the benefit of the populations.

In his communication, the representative of the NGO TDH Sokonou Tasséré was delighted to be present to support the authorities in achieving the objectives. On the balance sheet of the NGO, he then presented the results achieved in the preservation and promotion of livelihoods among households, among other things and especially the improvement of relations between the inhabitants and the representatives of the authorities in TDH’s areas of intervention.

To achieve these objectives, TDH encountered difficulties, including access to beneficiaries.

Evaluation, monitoring and capitalization are the next steps for the NGO to positively impact the behavior of beneficiaries.

Communications on social cohesion and conflict prevention and the presentation of the situation of internally displaced persons were co-hosted by the Secretary General of the province Firmin Bassolé, and the representative of the provincial director of humanitarian action Etienne Koaré .

On the situation of internally displaced persons Etienne Koaré indicated that the directory needs to be updated. The figures since November 2022 are of the order of 67,824 internally displaced persons in the Kossi and this milestone has been largely exceeded given the recent displacements of the villages located on the Nouna-Dembo, Nouna-Dédougou axis, the Sanaba Doumbala area.

The heads of administrative districts are asked by the president of the provincial consultation framework to contact the humanitarian action services so that these services benefit from their contributions
