In an address on this occasion, the Khalifa General of the Tariqa Tijaniyya in Nigeria welcomed the spiritual and fraternal relations uniting Morocco and the Republic of Nigeria, noting that the bilateral relations, rooted in history, are more than five centuries old.

Expressing his satisfaction with his visit to the Kingdom which, he said, will contribute to strengthening ties between the two countries, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi reiterated the commitment of followers of the Tariqa Tijaniyya, whose number exceeds 40 million, to cement these relations.

He also praised Morocco’s efforts in training African Ulema and imams and defending the constant values of the religion, stressing the importance of drawing on the experience of the Kingdom in this field in accordance with the vision of HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful.

The precepts of Islam, which have spread in the Sahel region, are based on the Maliki rite, the Ashaarite dogma and the Sufi brotherhoods that are inspired by the Koran and the Sunnah, he recalled.

For his part, the director of Dar El Hadith El Hassania, Ahmed Khamlichi, said that the visit of the Khalifa General of the Tariqa Tijaniyya in Nigeria in the Kingdom is a new milestone in strengthening bilateral ties, which will help consolidate the strong and deep cohesion between the two countries, highlighting the strong ties that have always marked the Kingdom’s relations with Muslims in sub-Saharan Africa.
