A government delegation led by the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly met with the vital forces of the province of Kénédougou, on Saturday August 31, 2024 in Orodara on subjects related to security, peace and social cohesion .
The government team was led by the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly.
He was accompanied by the Minister in charge of the Environment, Roger Baro, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fatoumata Bako/Traoré, the Secretary General of the Government, Mathias Traoré and the Governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté/Gnanou.
The meeting took place in the function room of the Orodara town hall.
In his opening statement, the High Commissioner of the Kénédougou province, Saïdou Sakira, on behalf of the populations under his territorial jurisdiction, expressed his gratitude and thanked the government for all its efforts to ensure the security of the nation
al territory.
Mr. Sakira suggested that the security situation is not good in Kénédougou and still requires additional efforts to be made to contribute to the consolidation of the gains made by the fighting forces.
He also welcomed the government’s approach of engaging directly with the province’s vital forces. The province’s top official hoped that solutions would be identified at the end of the meeting to put an end to this atrocity and allow people to go about their business “peacefully”.
The head of the government delegation, Minister of State, Kassoum Coulibaly explained to the audience the purpose of this mission wanted by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to exchange directly with the vital forces on the security life of the nation.
The discussions focused on topics related to security, peace and social cohesion. On this occasion, the populations also brought to the ministerial delegation some concerns relating to the socio-economic life of the province.
To all these concerns, elements of
response were given by the members of the government mission. The Minister of State also invited the vital forces of the province of Kénédougou to maintain the momentum of solidarity and social cohesion.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the government delegation also spoke with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to encourage them in their mission to reclaim the territory.
