Kadiogo/Police Academy: The New Director General Will Command Discipline, Rigor and Innovation


Kadiogo: Police Divisional Commissioner Abdoulaye Belem was installed this Thursday as Director General of the National Police Academy by the Minister of Security. He replaced Police Divisional Commissioner Oumarou Sogné, who had held the position for 39 months.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the National Police Academy holds a strategic role as it is where the individuals responsible for ensuring the safety of citizens, public peace, and republican order are trained. It is pivotal for the stability and development of the country. Upon taking office, Commissioner Abdoulaye Belem emphasized the importance of a professional, honest, and disciplined police force that respects human rights for achieving lasting security.

The new Director General stated that his leadership will be grounded in work, discipline, rigor, and innovation. As a reminder, Divisional Police Commissioner Abdoulaye Belem was appointed Director of the National Police School by the Council of Ministers on June 30, 2025.
