The 3rd edition of the Carthage Contemporary Art Days (JACC) kicked off on Friday at the City of Culture Chedly Klibi with an exhibition of works of art from cosmopolitan worlds. Marking its return after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the JACC was kicked off by Cultural Affairs Ministry Chief of Staff Lasaad Said and several ambassadors accredited to Tunisia, notably of Palestine, JACC’s Guest of Honour, of Oman and Kuwait and ALECSO Representative to Tunisia who presented JACC President Samira Turki with a Certificate of Honour. The Cultural Affairs Ministry had organised this event to allow artists from all across the world to meet, share views and display their works, which explains the richness of this year’s event held under the motto “Art, a journey,” which in Tunisia’s case takes us from the “Tunis School to the new generation,” Lasaad Said pointed out. Palestinian Deputy Minister of Cultural Affairs and expert in Cultural Capitals Jad Izzat Ghazzawi said Palestine had been keen to partake in this edition with the works of artists from the Gaza Strip who provide the whole world with another face of Gaza, that of a city that still beats to the rhythm of the values of beauty, life, love and art, showing the vitality of Palestinian creativity that is developing in a difficult living context.
