Imperialism has relied on indoctrinated individuals, devoid of intelligence, to sow war in Burkina Faso, in order to exploit the country’s resources at a lower cost, in particular the important deposits of gold, said Friday, President Ibrahim Traoré, inviting the youth to prepare for a long-term fight to free themselves.

“This war is not just for people to claim something. No! Imperialism was based on individuals devoid of a little intelligence. There are many in these armed groups who fight without knowing why they are fighting.

Unfortunately those who send them to fight, never come to fight, because their families are very well lodged somewhere. They are very cool.

And they send innocent people whom they indoctrinate to be killed unnecessarily”, declared Friday the head of state of Burkina Faso, captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Ibrahim Traoré was speaking at the University of Fada N’Gourma some 235 km east of Ouagadougou, where he is staying to boost the morale of troops engaged against terrorism.

The Head of State explained that terrorists have conquered artisanal gold mining sites across the country, to transfer the metal to counters abroad (more than 30 tons of gold defrauded in 2022) .

“These terrorists exploit the gold and these same imperialists who started this war, come to plunder it by other cheaper channels and they leave to sell it quite expensive.

They’re never going to want us to be at peace because when we’re at peace, we’re going to start thinking about development. We must always maintain the state of war and be able to continue to exploit our soils,” said Ibrahim Traoré.

The Head of State specified that imperialism is not a color but a state of mind. In his opinion, his followers, “are there with us here in Burkina and serve the interests of their masters well”.

The captain of the Burkina ship urged the youth to stay up and awake to lead this fight which is proving long.
