Higher Education Minister takes part in Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit in Tanzania

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Moncef Boukthir is taking part in the Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit, held on July 25 and 26 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

The minister stated that Tunisia has decided to increase the number of scholarships granted to Sub-Saharan countries by 25% for the academic year 2023-2024.

He emphasised Tunisia’s provision of training opportunities, study scholarships, and programmes for the benefit of over 40 African countries, offering more than 1000 scholarships for African students.

The Tunisian government has decided to establish the Tunisian Agency for Foreign Students, the minister further noted, specifying that this institution will support foreign students, starting from the study project in Tunisia up to the post-graduation stages.

Boukthir also notably highlighted the mobilisation of additional investments to ensure a better quality of education, enhance employability, and promote scientific output.
