Kourittenga: The High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, called for public structures without flag masts to install them promptly during the national flag-raising event held at the Koupèla Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This monthly event, instituted by the Burkinabe government, aims to promote citizenship and respect for state symbols.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the traditional raising of the national flag for November occurred on Tuesday in Koupéla. Moctar Ilboudo emphasized the importance of the flag as a unifying symbol and urged both public and private entities to ensure the national colors are displayed at their premises. The vice-president of the Center-East Chamber of Commerce, Mady Sana, expressed gratitude for the civic initiative, highlighting the significance of the national colors across various state institutions such as the presidency, the prime minister’s office, and the legislative assembly.
Moctar Ilboudo reiterated the importance of
the flag’s presence throughout Burkina Faso, advocating for its display in all public and private settings. He stressed that the flag serves as a reminder of the citizens’ role in fostering a thriving nation. The High Commissioner acknowledged the Chamber of Commerce and other bodies for their efforts in enhancing the province’s stature and announced that the Social Action management would host next month’s ceremony.
During the event, the provincial committee of the citizen watch of Kourittenga presented a civilian drone, funded by local contributions, to the provincial authority and the Defense and Security Forces. The governor of the Center-East region received the device for appropriate use.
