High Commissioner of Sourou Praises Unity During Flag Raising Ceremony


Sourou: The High Commissioner of the Sourou province, Desire Badolo, expressed appreciation for the mobilization of the constituted bodies around the flag, a symbol of unity and patriotism, during the monthly flag-raising ceremony.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the traditional raising of the national flag was conducted on September 2, 2025, in Tougan, Sourou province, with the presence of the province’s key stakeholders. This month’s ceremony was held at the Tougan municipal police station. Following the solemn flag-raising event, accompanied by the national anthem, High Commissioner Desire Badolo addressed the gathered provincial forces.



Mr. Badolo extended his gratitude to the municipal police commander, Simon Beogo, for the hospitality shown within his department. He also acknowledged the collective effort of all stakeholders in rallying around the national symbol. “I salute your mobilization this morning, on the occasion of this monthly ceremony of raising the colors which reminds us that we have only one country and we should unite to defend the cause of this country,” he remarked.



The provincial leader also acknowledged the resilience of local farmers and guests, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the guidelines set by defense and security forces. He highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by producers and urged them to follow safety instructions, particularly concerning livestock care due to recent security concerns in certain areas.



Additionally, Mr. Badolo expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the inaugural patriotic immersion event and encouraged continued involvement to ensure a successful conclusion. He announced that the closing of this event’s first edition is scheduled for September 9, 2025, in Tougan.
