Bam: The High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Ou©draogo, praised the exemplary commitment of the citizen monitoring committees of Kongoussi and Sabc©, which carried out a joint pruning operation along National Road No. 22 (RN22) to strengthen road safety.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative took place during the winter season, characterized by dense vegetation. The monitoring committees mobilized to clear the edges of the track, aiming to improve visibility for users and reduce the risk of ambushes between Kongoussi and Sabc© over a 15 km section. Teams from both localities started simultaneously and met halfway, demonstrating cooperation and synergy.
High Commissioner Karim Ou©draogo, along with Abel Dayamba, the president of the Kongoussi special delegation, Kito Yaya Soulama, the provincial director of the Bam National Police, and Biti© Konabi©, the deputy commander of the Kongoussi Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade, visited the scene to encourage the participants. Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of civic engagement in addressing security challenges and commended the committees for their commitment to community safety.
Ou©draogo also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in strengthening community resilience and supporting the efforts of defense and security forces. Citizen monitoring plays a crucial role in connecting the population with authorities, aiding in the preservation of the territory and maintaining stability in risk areas.
