Head of Gov’t Chairs Meeting on Social Protection with Officials from Chamber of Argiculture, Handicrafts

This event is part of a series of meetings devoted to social protection implementation monitoring, in accordance with the deadlines set by the High Directions of His Majesty the King, may God assist him, said a statement from the department of the Head of Government.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of Government recalled the steps that the Executive has taken since the beginning of his mandate in the Royal projects’ implementation to generalize social protection to all Moroccans, including its component related to the generalization of compulsory health insurance by the end of 2022, according to the same source.

He stressed that so far, 22 implementing decrees have been issued, which have enabled 11 million citizens, self-employed workers and their dependents to benefit from health insurance, noting that the system of compulsory health coverage is based on the principle of solidarity between the contributions of self-employed workers, employees of the private sector and those of public sector employees.

Akhannouch said that the benefits of the beneficiaries of the RAMED system will be preserved and strengthened under the compulsory health coverage.

He called the various actors and partners of the agricultural and craft sectors to be fully involved to make this Royal site a success, stressing the need for collective mobilization to raise awareness of the importance of engaging in this important site.

On the other hand, the representatives of the Chambers of Agriculture and Handicrafts have expressed their full availability to participate in the success of this Royal site, through processes of communication and awareness among workers in the agricultural sector and crafts, because of its vital importance in preserving their dignity.

This meeting took place in the presence of Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, Health and Social Protection Minister Khaled Ait Taleb and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forestry Mohamed Sadiki, along with other ministers and officials.
