Hachani meets Kenya’s President, cooperation debated


Tunis: Premier Ahmed Hachani met Tuesday in Seoul with Kenya’s President William Ruto, on the sidelines of his participation in the first Korea-Africa Summit.

The Premier voiced Tunisia’s willingness to scale up cooperation with Kenya in higher education, healthcare and digitalisation, reads a Prime Ministry press release.

The holding of the 1st Joint Commission will provide an opportunity to fostercooperation and create a lasting economic dynamic.

Ruto said his country is keen to boost cooperation with Tunisia. Action has been undertaken, he said, to open an embassy in Tunis in Tunisia’s footsteps.

There is also need to step up coordination between both countries within the African Union so as to tackle common challenges, including climate change, he added.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisian Abroad Nabil Ammar and Economy and Planning Minister Ferial Ourghi.
