Speaking at a meeting with the presidents of the Chambers of Agriculture and Handicrafts on the generalization of social protection, Akhannouch said that the compulsory health insurance scheme (AMO) is based on the principle of solidarity between the contributions of self-employed workers, employees of the private sector and those of employees of the public sector, a statement from the department of the Head of Government said.

This meeting is part of a series of meetings devoted to the monitoring of the deployment of social protection projects, in accordance with the deadlines set by the High Orientations of His Majesty the King.

During this meeting, Akhannouch recalled the steps that government had taken since the beginning of his mandate concerning the implementation of the royal project about social protection generalization to all Moroccans, especially the generalization of basic compulsory health insurance by the end of 2022.

The achievements of the beneficiaries of the RAMED system will continue to be preserved and will be further strengthened in the framework of compulsory health insurance, he stressed.

In this regard, Akhannouch has called the various stakeholders and partners of the agricultural and craft sectors to engage fully to ensure the success of this important royal site, underlying the need for collective mobilization to raise awareness of concerned citizens on the importance of adhering fully to this royal site of scale.

In addition, representatives of chambers of agriculture and handicrafts have expressed their full willingness to engage in the success of this site and mobilize all the necessary frameworks and means to raise awareness of workers in agriculture and handicrafts sectors on the benefits of registering in the system of compulsory basic health insurance, because of its great importance for the preservation of their dignity.

This meeting took place in the presence of Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, Health and Social Protection Minister Khaled Ait Taleb, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forestry Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, as well as the Director General of CNSS and the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development.
