Gourcy/Cadre de Concertation Communal: young people and women invited to participate in development initiatives

The commune of Gourcy in the province of Zondoma held the first ordinary 2024 session of its consultation framework on Monday April 22, 2024 under the leadership of the President of the special delegation (PDS) Bosso Toé Kaba Téré, noted an AIB journalist.

The assessment of the activities carried out in 2023 and the problem of the inclusion of young people and women in development actions constituted the salient points of the discussions.

The first session of the Municipal Consultation Framework (CCCo) of the municipality of Gourcy was held this Monday, April 22, 2024 under the theme, ‘promoting the inclusion of young people and women in the development initiatives of the municipality of Gourcy: policy, programs and concrete actions’.

For the PDS Bosso Kaba Toé Téré, this framework, which brought together representatives of technical services and all the active forces of the municipality, aims, on the one hand, to present the results of the activities carried out in the municipality in 2023 and on the othe
r hand to discuss current concerns with the participants.

‘This accountability action is certainly an obligation, but it will allow us to collect suggestions, expectations for improving services and decisions taken within the special delegation,’ said the PDS. Regarding the results, the president of the special delegation highlighted 12 deliberations adopted.

Added to this are achievements in the sectors of education, health, water, security, civil protection, youth, culture, environmental protection, etc. The participants were also entitled to an assessment of the achievements of the Sahel Community Recovery and Stabilization Project (PCRSS) which, in the commune of Gourcy, were oriented primarily towards localities affected by insecurity.

According to the presenter, these activities mainly focused on the distribution of seeds, inputs, the construction and equipment of infrastructure will be continued in 2024. Commenting on the results, the participants congratulated the special delegation for the results
achieved before to raise their concerns which include, among other things, the saturation of cemeteries, the poor state of the roads, the question of land liabilities, etc.

The rest of the work focused on the involvement of young people and women in development initiatives in the commune of Gourcy. By addressing the subject, consultant Bertrand Sawadogo returned to the foundations of citizen participation and the areas in which this participation is most expected in a municipality like Gourcy.

At the end of the discussions, the president of the special delegation Bosso Toé Kaba Téré expressed his satisfaction for the contribution of the members of the framework to the debates while inviting them to strengthen their involvement in the life of the community, particularly through tax citizenship.

According to the PDS, its team has in its sights the clearance of land liabilities, the operationalization of the hygiene policy and the updating of the Municipal Development Plan (PCD).

ion framework was carried out thanks to the support of the Rural World Association (AMR) and the Fraternal Union of Believers (UFC) of Dori through its project ‘Preventing radicalization and extremism violent by increasing the resilience of local communities in the North and Sahel regions.
