The objective of this meeting was to present the guidelines on the implementation of the chemo-prevention campaign for seasonal malaria to parents or guardians, men and women of the media, customary and religious authorities, market managers, yaars and stations, to administrative authorities and civil society organizations (associations, groups).
According to the communicator, seasonal malaria chemoprevention is the intermittent administration of a curative dose of antimalarial drugs to children at high risk of severe malaria living in areas of seasonal transmission, whether or not they are infected with malaria. .
The target audience for this campaign is children a
ged 3 to 59 months. The campaign, which will be held from July 26 to 29, 2024, intends to reach 55,624 children in the first round, 56,860 children in the second round, 58,310 children in the third round and 59,648 children in the fourth round in the Gayéri health district.
