‘Future Stars’ Triumphs at 8th Ouahigouya Culture Holiday Show


Yatenga: ‘Future Stars’ clinched victory in the 8th edition of the Ouahigouya Culture Holiday Show, held at the Maison des jeunes et de la culture de Ouahigouya (MJCO). The event concluded with the crowning of the troupe, noted Burkina Information Agency.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the three-month long competition saw dance troupes from the four provinces of the Yaadga region compete in ballet, playback, and choreography. The “Future Stars” troupe from Sector 8 of Ouahigouya emerged victorious, earning an average score of 15.88 out of 20, impressing both the jury and the public with their performances.



Promoter Boureima Ouedraogo, known as Bokilo, expressed satisfaction with the event’s success despite limited resources. He emphasized that Show Vacances Culture serves as a platform for promoting Burkinabe culture and provides healthy entertainment for vacationers in the Yaadga region. Ouedraogo extended gratitude to regional, provincial, and municipal authorities for their continued support of the cultural and sporting initiative.



Karim Tassambedo, the technical advisor in charge of cultural issues in the Yaadga Governorate, highlighted the event’s role in fostering cultural dialogue and social cohesion, which are crucial for peace among the region’s communities. Tassambedo reiterated the regional authority’s commitment to supporting the event, which nurtures the cultural spirit of the younger generation.



The jury’s deliberation placed “Future Stars” of Sector 8 in first place, followed by “The Golden Stars of Sector 2,” “The Super Shocks of Sector 9,” “The Angels of Dance of Sector 9,” and “Wendpanga of Sector 4,” all from the city of Naaba Kango. The event’s organizers and participants are already looking forward to the 9th edition, scheduled for July 2026.
