Food security and reopening of savannah media make the headlines of the day

Ouagadougou: This Tuesday’s publications echo the reopening of the doors of savanna media and the delivery of a large batch of equipment and inputs to producers by the Head of State .

The state daily Sidwaya writes on its headline: ‘Food self-sufficiency: equipment worth nearly 80 billion to boost agriculture’.

The newspaper reports that yesterday, 400 tractors, 239 motor cultivators, 710 motor pumps were made available to producers with the aim of boosting agricultural yields.

The public daily adds that the ceremony to hand over equipment and inputs reflects the government’s desire to support producers.

Sidwaya underlines that the value of the support amounts to 78.293 billion FCFA.

As for the private newspaper Le Pays, it informs that the Head of State assured that the tractors are specially acquired for the rainy season and will be used to plow the land free of charge.

The colleague continues that inputs are subsidized in order to facilitate access to producers.

eur Paalga, informs that the Head of State has invited young people to get to work and organize themselves into cooperatives to benefit from government support.

From another angle, the same newspaper displays on its front page: ‘Non-payment of taxes: Savane media regains its voice’.

The private daily mentions that Savane Medias regained its voice yesterday at 3 p.m. sharp after having paid 25% of the 300 million in taxes.

He adds that the rest of the amount will be paid by installment.
