Kourweogo: The Catholic faithful of the Saint Luke chapel in the village of Kaonghin, in the commune of Bouss©, celebrated, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, the feast of their patron saint, Saint Luke. The religious ceremony, placed under the sign of unity and gratitude to God, mobilized many faithful from the parish of Donsin, Bouss©, as well as nationals of the diaspora.
According to Burkina Information Agency, officiated by Father Arnaud Ouangrawa, the thanksgiving mass on Sunday, October 26, 2025, was a time of prayer and meditation. In his homily, the celebrant invited the faithful to follow the example of Saint Luke, evangelist and doctor, by being instruments of peace, service, and love within their community. He also urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, despite the current difficulties, and to pray tirelessly for peace and security in Burkina Faso.
“We must be living witnesses to the Word of God, like Saint Luke, and carry in our lives the values of humility, sharing, and solidarity,” declared Father Ouangrawa, before blessing the faithful and their families. The celebration was attended by several delegations from the four sectors of the Saint Luc chapel (Tiendepalogo, Routenga, Golmidou, and Kaonghin). Together, they gave thanks to God for his blessings and implored his support for the coming year.
After the mass, held at the fraternity, the village vibrated to the rhythm of a fair. The faithful shared a community meal in joy and conviviality. For Gilbert Sawadogo, a Kaonghin resident in Ouagadougou, this celebration remains a strong moment of cohesion and faith. “Every year, we come to thank the Lord for his protection and to entrust our families, our activities, and our country to him,” he said. For Mr. Sawadogo, it is also an opportunity to visit relatives and strengthen ties, before sending a thought of support to the Defense and Security Forces committed to peace.
