On the occasion of the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 2023, exhibitions and fairs are organized at several sites in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso.

We met with the officials of the craft and commercial fair commission to find out about the state.

In the middle of a forest of stands, visitors come and go to the headquarters of the Technical Secretariat of the National Week of Culture (SNC), this Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

It is past midday inside the headquarters of the SNC. The countdown begins. We are 72 hours away from the opening of the event.

These are the final settings. The courtyard is indeed home to a large part of the craft and commercial fair.

Abdoulazize Zouré is the vice-president of the “Artisan and commercial fair” commission.

Listening to him, the missions of his commission begin with the marketing of the stands, which took place from March 27 to April 15.

The second step is the labeling of the different stands to allow exhibitors to identify their stands.

As for the last step, it consists in contacting the exhibitors individually and in time so that they can collect the exhibitor badges.

On the paved space of the courtyard, there are various stands made up of 260 stands of 6m2, 38 stands for works of art, 28 for natural juices and 500 stands reserved for food and local processing.

The 9 baits are not marketed this year, they are reserved free of charge by the partners, informs us Mr. Zouré.

The space for maquis and drinking establishments is located in the western part of the courtyard. It contains 70 maquis. A VIP lot of around twenty stands reserved for institutions and companies.

Exhibitions are planned on other sites as well. This is the craft village (Editor’s note: located in the Bindougousso district of Bobo-Dioulasso) which also houses the community village, and the book exhibition space located within the Regional Consular Delegation of Hauts-Bassins (Chambre of business).

20 commercial stands reserved for African gastronomy are set up in the craft village and 20 others for the exhibition space for books.

The vice-president reassures that everything is ready. “All the various stands in the SNC courtyard and the maquis have been labelled. Those of the craft village and the book exhibition will also be ready today,” he said.

The particularity of this 20th edition, says Abdoulazize Zouré, is that all stands are required to take out an insurance policy. 5000 FCFA for the stands of 60000 and 25 000 and 15000 FCFA for the maquis.
