Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAOR‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, handed over a first batch of equipment to the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative this Thursday morning.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this morning, a batch of more than 900 machines was handed over by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAOR‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, to the National Coordinator of the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative, Commander Zoodnoma Ahmed SAKAND‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°. The equipment consists of 4X4 pick-up vehicles, recycling machines, bulldozers, hydraulic excavators, loader shovels, graders, concrete mixers, crane trucks, dump trucks, tank trucks, tank transporters, workshop trucks, compactors, mobile projectors, and more.
For Captain Ibrahim TRAOR‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, who reviewed all the machines and vehicles delivered, this equipment constitutes the first batch for the first phase of acquisition, with an overall investment cost of approximately 200 billion FCFA. He stated that the process of revolutionizing infrastructure has begun, leading to the creation of the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative. He emphasized the importance of paving roads in Burkina Faso to connect different localities.
According to the Head of State, the reconquest of the territory undertaken by the fighting forces requires a road network in good condition. He highlighted the need to build more roads to support these forces and facilitate the activities of producers, transporters, and traders.
The next step in this program is the start of construction. The objective is to pave between 3,000 and 5,000 km of roads in Burkina Faso each year, according to the National Coordinator of the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative, Commander Zoodnoma Ahmed SAKAND‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬°, who has received firm instructions for speed and rigor in the deployment of equipment and construction of infrastructure.
Adopted by the Council of Ministers in October 2024, the Faso Mªbo Presidential Initiative, housed in the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina, aims to accelerate the opening up of cities and the countryside through the construction of roads and the development of sustainable urban planning.
