Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Forum “Morocco-Israel: Connect to Innovate”, Mezzour stressed that Morocco and Israel are committed to a win-win collaboration in mutually beneficial areas.

This forum allows to further explore the development paths in promising areas, namely agribusiness, energy, logistics and water, he noted.

These are priority projects for Morocco in terms of economy and industry and are perfectly aligned with the New Development Model, which promotes sovereignty, innovation, research and development and innovative entrepreneurship, Mezzour underlined.

For her part, the Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform , Ghita Mezzour, noted that innovation is one of the pillars of the new development model, stressing the ambition of Morocco to develop an ecosystem of technology and innovation based on its high quality human capital that makes the Kingdom a destination for outsourcing.

Morocco is working to develop a new legislative framework that will give a new impetus to national startups, she mentioned, noting that the government is mobilized to provide all the necessary efforts to take full advantage of the potential offered by the national ecosystem.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil referred to the importance that the NMD gives to the mobility of people and logistics, and whose provisions provide an ambition of a sustainable mobility for all, a competitive logistics to serve the national economy and a simplified and digitized transport administration.

After specifying that these three dimensions contain innovation as the main driver, Abdeljalil encouraged Moroccan and Israeli startup companies to meet and share their respective experiences in this field.

He also expressed the willingness of his Department to facilitate contact with companies under his supervision.

Initiated jointly by Start-Up Nation Central and Consensus Public Relations, this Forum is a unique event bringing together Moroccan and Israeli leaders from the private and public sectors around the theme of technological innovation in the fields of agribusiness, water, logistics, energy and sustainable development.

The inaugural ceremony was marked by the conclusion of 13 memoranda of understanding (MoU) relating to the development of innovative solutions, which were signed by the Moroccan and Israeli parties to strengthen business to business (B2B) activities between economic and commercial operators of both countries and those that unite government entities.

This inaugural ceremony was marked by the pre-recorded speech of Israeli President Isaac Herzog and the participation of HM the King’s Advisor, André Azoulay, the CEO of Start-Up Nation Central, Avi Hasson, and the Head of Israel’s liaison office in Morocco, David Govrin.

The event will feature a series of workshops, business sessions, business-to-business (B2B) meetings and networking events. Start-Up Nation Central is a non-profit organization that works to promote the Israeli innovation ecosystem to the world.
