Djibo Town Hall Distributes Sewing Equipment and Household Kits to 320 Beneficiaries

Djibo: As part of its efforts to support the population, the Djibo town hall, through Humanitarian Action, distributed sewing materials and household kits to 320 beneficiaries. This initiative is part of a program aimed at improving the living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable families in the municipality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place on March 17, 2025, in the presence of the provincial director of Humanitarian Action, Benjamin Hie, and the president of the special delegation of the commune of Djibo, who participated in the symbolic ceremony of handing over the donations.

During this ceremony, 20 sewing machines were presented to beneficiaries to enable them to acquire an income-generating skill in a community where mobility and access to employment can be limited. These machines were acquired thanks to funding from the Community Recovery and Stabilization Project for the Sahel (PCRSS).

In addition to sewing machines, 300 household kits were distributed to vulnerable households. Each kit contained a large 200L bucket, a small bucket, pots, plates, ladles, a stove, mats, a raincoat, a tray, a kettle, and other essential utensils.

Among these beneficiaries, 50 kits were specifically offered to the widows of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell in the line of duty in defense of the nation. These kits were provided thanks to the support of the Three Borders project.
