Devising 2026/2030 development plan to start soon (Minister of Economy)

Tunis: The Economy and Planning Ministry will start devising the 2026/2030 development plan, as part of a participatory approach involving all stakeholders, said Economy Minister Feriel Ouerghi.

Addressing a working session held on Wednesday with foreign partners and donors and representatives of regional and international financial institutions, Ouerghi underlined the need to adopt a new methodology based on quality objectives in line with sustainable development goals.

Ouerghi reviewed the broad development guidelines set by the government and the reforms planned as part of a vision of global and sustainable development.

These guidelines and reforms are focused on developing the energy transition process, combating climate change, notably with regard to water resources, upgrading basic infrastructure, improving the business and investment climate, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), reforming public enterprises, digitising and simplifying administrative services, liberalising entreprene
urship and improving social conditions.

In this connection, the minister pointed out the need to identify priorities and objectives in order to achieve economic and social profitability, calling on Tunisia’s partners to continue coordinating and consulting on these national guidelines and priorities, so as to ensure the implementation of appropriate programmes to achieve the targeted goals.

The participants reiterated their institutions’ commitment to continuing to support Tunisia in its reform and development process.

They voiced willingness to step up coordination and consultation in order to ensure the efficiency of technical and financial partnership programmes.
