Dédougou, July 14 (AIB)-The Regional Director of Post-Primary and Secondary Education (DREPS) of the Boucle du Mouhoun, Dr Denis Vimboué, discussed on Friday July 14, 2023 in Dédougou with the heads of press organs on the review of the 2023-2024 school year.

In the report presented, Dr. Denis Vimboué underlined that the various examinations organized by the regional management of post-primary and secondary education of the Boucle du Mouhoun went well with the support of all the actors.

He praised the courage and resilience of the various actors who made it possible to organize the exams. Likewise, he praised the great involvement of the administrative and military authorities who have invested in the smooth running of the exams.

In terms of results, the region recorded a success rate of 88.54% for the CAP, 72.96% for the BEP, i.e. a rate of 78.44% for the technical examinations and 33.13% for the BEPC.

By comparing the results of this session to that of 2022, the Boucle du Mouhoun region saw a decline in performance at the BEPC from 33.13% to 39.25%, i.e. a drop of 5.19%.

For the BAC, the region’s success rate is 44.49%, a gain of 2.69 points compared to the 2022 season. The Boucle du Mouhoun region being affected by the security crisis, a situation that impacted school exam results.

On the issue of absences observed in the various exams, the regional director noted that the region recorded 675 absentees at the BEPC, 17 at the BEP, 10 at the CAP and 267 for the BAC. This situation is linked to several hypotheses, the main one being the security situation.

Returning to the situation in the province of Banwa, Dr. Denis will say that the situation is linked to the long period of cessation of classes in this province. Some students, with the help of their parents and the active forces of their locality, have developed initiatives to reach more secure areas in order to continue their lessons while presenting their candidacies for the various exams in their new locality.

This has led to a drop in the number of candidates for the various exams in this province. After the liberation of the province of Banwa by our fighting forces, some establishments experienced a resumption of classes but the registration period for the various examinations, especially secondary school, had expired.

With regard to the province of Banwa, only the Lycée Privé Dominique Syano Konaté presented its candidates numbering 13 for the A4 series and 32 for the D series, for a total of 45 candidates presented.

In the final result, the A4 series recorded a rate of 33.33% and the D 25.58%, which gives a total success rate of 25.58% for this establishment in the Banwa Province.

Regarding the creation of the jury of Djibasso, Dr. Denis will say that given the number of candidates who was initially in the juries of Nouna, the erection of this jury was circumstantial for security reasons.

Questions related to the management of the exam software, the choice of correctors, the difficulties in the organization of the exams were asked by the media men and they found answers.

The Regional Director reiterated his thanks to all the actors who have invested in the smooth running of the school year and that of the exams in the region.

He also expressed his gratitude to the press for the work of visibility of the actions of the DREPS and wished its support for future activities.
