COVID-19: Over 64,000 People Receive 3rd Injection in Morocco

A total of 22,953,940 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 19,758,226, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

A total of 727 new COVID-19 cases and 1,491 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, said the ministry.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 936,963, while recoveries rise to 913,229, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.5%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (273), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (243), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (55), the Eastern region (37), Marrakech-Safi (25), Fez-Meknes (20), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (19), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (19), Souss-Massa (13), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (10), Draa-Tafilalet (7) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (6).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,390 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 18 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (8), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (6), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Marrakech-Safi (1), and Draa-Tafilalet (1).

The number of active cases stands at 9,344, including 717 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
