Dakar: A consular mission sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad has enabled the issuance of more than 850 identity documents to Burkinabe living in Senegal, at the end of an operation carried out from October 12 to 19, 2025, in Dakar and Kedougou. This mission aimed to bring administrative services closer to compatriots established abroad and to facilitate their access to official documents.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in total, 857 documents were issued, including 397 consular cards, 112 ordinary applications received, and 348 registrations for Burkinabe National Identity Cards (CNIB). In addition to these services, several birth certificates were issued and numerous administrative documents were legalized for the applicants.
The Burkina Faso Embassy in Dakar stated that this mission, conducted with efficiency and professionalism, demonstrates the Burkinabe government’s desire to strengthen the proximity between the administration and Burkinabe citizens abroad, while improving the quality of consular assistance. Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Senegal, Saidou Maiga, praised the strong mobilization of the Burkinabe community and expressed his sincere thanks to the consular team for its dedication and commitment to serving its compatriots.
