The 5th edition of Difan-Bgar or the new harvest festival was held on Saturday May 4, 2024 in Labola, in the Canton of Karaborola, commune of Tiéfora, under the presidency of His Majesty, Maouran Tolé Sagnon, Chief of the Canton of Karaborola and under the sponsorship of Aristide Boudou, Director General of African Mining.
Difan-Gbar is the new harvest festival in the Kar language which is the language of the Karaboro. The objective is to establish social cohesion, living together and fraternity in the cantonal area.
Like other editions, this edition has given pride of place to the enhancement and promotion of local cultural values.
According to His Majesty Maouran Sagnon, head of the Canton of Karaborola, Difan-Gbar is a framework for cultural promotion, entertainment and integration of the populations of the Canton of Karaborola which includes several ethnic groups. It also aims to be a place to raise awareness among the populations of the Canton on the promotion of their culture and socio-economic devel
opment.
According to His Majesty Maouran, Head of the Canton of Karaborola, this 5th edition is being held in a national context of war. Karaborola in Comoé is also impacted by this war. It is by demonstrating actions to defend their space and their families, their villages, their production areas and resilience that the populations wanted to take up this organizational challenge of the 5th edition of Difan -Gbar, he added.
His Majesty Maouran, indicated that this 2024 edition of Difan-Gbar made it possible to emphasize the maintenance and strengthening of the mobilization for the defense of the inhabitants, the villages, the cantonal territory, the province of Comoé, from the Cascades region and across the country. It also provided an opportunity to support and encourage our fighting forces.
His Majesty, in his intervention, expressed his gratitude to the highest authorities of Burkina Faso. He also thanked the administrative authorities of the Cascades region led by the Secretary General of the region, r
epresenting the Governor for their effective presence and their support and support for the success of this activity.
Without ambiguity, the Secretary General of the Cascades region, Toussaint Méda, representing the Governor, greeted and congratulated the Head of the Karaborola Canton for this great initiative which supports the Government’s actions in the region.
He also appreciated his personal involvement in the mobilization of communities to face the terrorist hydra in the canton, but also and above all for his involvement in enabling harmonious living together in the canton with all the communities.
Méda took the opportunity to ask the Head of the Karaborola canton to support the Transition authorities in all the actions they undertake for the happiness of the populations. He also asked to support the region’s authorities in all development actions, social cohesion, peace and living together.
The Director General of African Mining, Aristide Boudou, sponsor of this 2024 edition, expressed all his joy
and satisfaction for the organization of this activity which allowed all the communities of the Canton of Karaborola to come together to commune together.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Canton for having chosen him as sponsor of this 5thediting. I am honored, he added.
The sponsor also expressed his full availability to support the Head of the Karaborola canton in all his development, social cohesion and living together activities.
