CEFISE-BENAJA Triumphs in OSEP 2025 Football Final


Ouagadougou: The Ouaga 1 Basic Education District (CEB) concluded its sports and cultural season at the Joseph Issoufou Conombo municipal stadium, marking a significant victory for CEFISE-BENAJA in the Organization of Sports in Primary Schools (OSEP) football final. The team emerged victorious against the Cissin bloc, securing a win with a 3-1 penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the competition unfolded over five months with CEFISE/BENAJA and the Cissin bloc qualifying for the final. The match, witnessed by hundreds of students and supervisors, began with the Cissin bloc taking an early lead in the first minute. Despite several attempts, Cissin could not extend their advantage. The halftime break featured performances of miming, dance, and ballet by students, showcasing cultural talents.



CEFISE/BENAJA equalized shortly before the end of regulation time, leading to a decisive penalty shootout. The team outperformed Cissin by scoring three goals to one, leading to celebrations among supporters and staff. On the other hand, the Cissin bloc faced the challenge of consoling their determined players.



The victorious CEFISE/BENAJA team was awarded the trophy, 60,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and a ball, while the Cissin bloc received 50,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The third-place team from Bilbalogo received 40,000 CFA francs.



Inspector Azor Zoungrana, head of CEB Ouaga 1, praised the competition’s smooth execution, emphasizing that all participants were part of a collective victory. He highlighted the OSEP 2025 theme, which underscores the role of sport and culture in primary education as integral to broader societal struggles for freedom.



Dr. Th©r¨se Kafando, the event’s godmother and Director General of the CEFISE/BENAJA school group, expressed her joy in supporting the children’s development, recognizing them as future leaders and sources of inspiration.



The patron of the ceremony, El Hadj Sadou Zoungrana, represented by his son Abdou Razak, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting CEB’s efforts in promoting sports and culture, acknowledging the supervisors’ dedication to nurturing the children.
