Casablanca: The Burkina Faso Cadet Stallions have returned to their Casablanca base to prepare for the upcoming CAN U17 competition, kicking off with a Group B match against South Africa. The team had recently concluded a ten-day training camp in Mohammedia, as reported by the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the FBF communications department confirmed that the U17 Stallions are now stationed at Ibis Sidi Maarouf in Casablanca. The team conducted a training session on Wednesday evening at the Raja Athletic Club Academy. Coach Oscar Barro expressed satisfaction with the training camp, highlighting the team’s performance in five international friendlies, which included three wins, one draw, and one loss. He emphasized the importance of these matches in identifying areas for improvement.
Coach Barro remains optimistic about the team’s chances, noting that the players are physically prepared. He stated, “We are working on other aspects so that the team is fully ready by March 31. We will build on what we have done well to get back into the competition.” The technical staff continues to refine the team’s strategies to enhance their performance in the U17 CAN.
The Burkinabe team is set to face the South African cadets, Bafana Bafana, in their Group B match on March 31 at 5 p.m. The U17 AFCON is scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 19 in Morocco.
