Banfora: The Dumu Ka Fa Fund has allocated financing of 250 million CFA francs to the Soci©t© Industrielle de Production Agro-Alimentaire (SIPA-BF), based in Banfora, Cascades region, for establishing a rice processing facility.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the project’s funding includes 158 million CFA francs for infrastructure and 92 million for working capital. Zakaria Traor©, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIPA-BF, expressed optimism about the project’s progress, stating that it is 80% complete and expected to reach the roof level by mid-August.
Traor© highlighted the financing’s alignment with SIPA-BF’s goals, praising the loan’s affordability and the ease of acquisition. The new facility is set to employ 14 permanent and 50 seasonal workers, contributing to the local economy while enhancing the state’s agricultural output.
He commended the state’s initiative to support agricultural producers through projects like this, emphasizing that processing capabilities are vital to completing the agricultural production chain. The state’s provision of fertilizers and seeds, coupled with the new processing unit, promises significant advancements for Burkina’s agriculture sector.
Traor© also noted the strong partnership with Dumu Ka Fa, appreciating their professionalism and ongoing support, which instills confidence in local producers about the future of the agricultural industry.
SIPA-BF, formed in 2024 from the merger of Dangboni Industrie, boasts a production capacity of 30 tonnes per day, equating to 900 tonnes monthly. The facility will feature essential infrastructure, including storage and office spaces, to support its operations.
